Three rooms. No televisions. Very good sheets.
Each room is en-suite and looks out over the garden or the valley. Rates are shown live when you book — we don't publish them here because they move with the season.
Ground floor · Sleeps 2
The Garden Room
Our smallest and warmest room, with French doors that open straight onto the herb garden. You get the first of the morning sun, a deep window seat built into the wall, and the sound of the fountain when the wind is in the right direction.
It suits couples who like to be outside before they are properly awake, and anyone who would rather step onto grass than into a corridor. The bathroom is compact but new, with a walk-in shower and a heated towel rail for the winter mornings.
- Queen bedCotton linen, feather and non-feather pillows.
- En-suite showerWalk-in, heated towel rail.
- Garden doorsOpens onto the herb beds and lawn.
- Window seatDeep enough to sleep in, apparently.
First floor · Sleeps 2
The Orchard Suite
The largest room in the house, with windows on two sides and a long view down the row of fig trees to the valley beyond. There is a separate sitting corner with two armchairs and a small writing desk — guests tend to claim it for the whole stay and read there until dinner.
The bathroom has a bath set under the window, which is the reason most people book this room twice. Original pine floors, high ceiling, and enough space that a rainy day indoors doesn't feel like a waste of a day.
- King bedCan be split into twins on request.
- Bath & showerBath set under the valley window.
- Sitting cornerTwo armchairs, desk, good lamp.
- Valley viewEast-facing, mist most mornings.
Upstairs · Sleeps 2
The Loft Room
Up under the eaves, with exposed beams, a sloped ceiling and a gable window that frames the mist sitting in the valley most mornings. It is the quietest room in the house — no one walks past your door, and the only sound at night is frogs.
Compact and full of character rather than space. A good choice for light sleepers, for anyone who likes waking up to a view, and for guests who plan to spend their days outside and only need somewhere lovely to land.
- Double bedTucked under the beams.
- En-suite showerSmall, bright, recently redone.
- Beamed ceilingOriginal timber, low in places.
- Gable windowThe best view in the house, arguably.
Good to know
How a stay here works.
Breakfast is included in every room and served between 7 and 9:30 at the long table in the kitchen, or on the veranda if the weather is behaving. Tell us the night before if you'd like it early because you're walking, or late because you aren't.
Check-in is from [time] and check-out by [time]. If you're arriving after dark, let us know and we'll leave the veranda light on and a note on the door.
Minimum two nights on weekends and long weekends; single nights are usually fine midweek. Rates are quoted per room per night, including breakfast, and are shown live on our booking partner's site.
Children over [age] are welcome. Well-behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement in the Garden Room only — please ask before booking.
The house is single-storey at the entrance with one ground-floor room, but the garden paths are gravel and uneven in places. Tell us what you need and we will do our best to make it work.
We don't have a restaurant, a spa or a lobby. We do have a fire pit, an honesty bar, a shelf of books and a kitchen that will pack you a lunch if you're heading out for the day.
